To mark the start of the Shakespeare season, the Hungarian State Opera will host Shakespeare400+ festival in honour the esteemed playwright. The Hungarian government has decided to launch of program worth over HUF 100 million to popularize reading literature. An international survey on media consumption has found that Hungarians spend over 6.5 hours reading books but nearly a third of the under-25 Hungarians never touch a book.
